This photo of Marl Lake was taken from the public boat launch off Whispering Pines Rd. Marl Lake is part of a string of five lakes called the Upper Chain O' Lakes. They include Marl Lake, Pope Lake, Manomin Lake, Knight Lake, and Lake Orlando. These lakes are connected to the Chain O' Lakes. The entire Chain has 22 lakes in it. You can rent an aluminum canoe from from Ding's Dock if you want to canoe the entire Chain O' Lakes.
Here is a nice fishing pier on Allen Lake with handicap access. Also, check out the newly paved bike trails that go around the lakes inside the park forest grounds.
This is a beautiful 120 year old log cabin from Waupaca County that was donated to Hartman's Creek State Park.
The Famous Crystal River Canoe Trip starts at Ding's Dock on Columbia Lake, only 1 mile from Hartman's Creek State Park on County Highway Q. You will receive a free boat trip through 2 scenic lakes of the Chain O' Lakes from Ding's Dock when taking the Crystal River Canoe Trip. And if you think you are not in the mood for camping but just want to relax in a cottage right on the Chain O'Lakes, you can always make reservations to stay at the Indian Crossing Cottages on Columbia Lake. The State Park is only 1 mile away, within walking or biking distance. |
